Thank you for visiting our classroom website. My goal is to use this website to provide you with useful information related to your child's class and school.
Second grade offers the opportunity for plenty of review so that students truly master and build upon the skills presented in first grade. Students will also learn to recognize familiar words more rapidly, read new words, add and subtract faster, compose sentences that are more complex, spell many new words, and increase their reading and speaking vocabularies.
I truly appreciate all of the things you do to help ensure the success of your child in school. You are your child's first teacher. Thank you for your continued involvement. As a teacher, I will help students grow socially, as well as academically. As parents, you can help by encouraging your child as he/she develops a concept of self, begins to understand others, gains respect for others, builds relationships with others, and develops a sense of responsibility.
I believe that the bridge between school and home is strengthened by open lines of communication.
